Water Skiing & Wakeboarding

Mambo Jambo Watersport is best water ski & wakeboard school in Barbados well known on the west coast of the island. Eric & JR have 30 years experiences between them in both sports.

We take children as young as 4 years- to adults and make it a fun sport.

We have complete programs for skiers of all levels, you don't have to be a world champion to ski with Mambo Jambo Watersports. Sixty percent of our guests who attend the school are beginners, fifty five percent of our beginners succeed, but everyone enjoys themselves and has a good time.

The school supplies you with all the necessary skiing and wakeboarding equipment.

History of Water Skiing

In the 1920 the Americans where the first to invent Water Skiing this came about by someone placing a piece of wooden board behind a motorboat an towing it around a lake, but they found it was easier with two pieces of wood. Then they came up with the idea of building a 3 meter long water ski and that's how the sport began.

After the second World war Water skiing became very popular world wide sport, but today it's a fun hobby taken places in your free time. Today it's a family sports with over 30 million people taking part ageing between 5 years - 80 years.

Water skiing has become a very competitive sport with different events National Championships, European Championship (yearly) World Championship (every two years)
